Before we decide what goes into a formula, we define what will never go in. Our Blacklist is a rigorously curated list of ingredients we consciously exclude from every product we make — not because regulations force us to, but because the science tells us we should.

Couleurs de Noir was founded by a biochemist and built with an in-house team of cosmetologists and pharmacists. The same principles that govern medical and pharmaceutical development — precision, safety, responsibility — govern ours.

Every formula is carefully constructed, critically evaluated, and refined with one clear focus: skin health and tolerance.

All our products are dermatologically tested. Our eye products also undergo ophthalmological testing — making them safe for sensitive eyes and everyday wear. These aren't checkboxes. They're commitments.

Dries Van de Walle studied biochemistry and grew up in a family of three generations of pharmacists, where healthcare and precision weren't just values — they were a way of life.

After years in the cosmetic industry, he kept encountering the same gap: people with sensitive skin had almost nothing they could truly trust. So he built it himself.

Couleurs de Noir still carries that original intention in every formula: rigorous science, real care, and makeup you can wear with confidence.

Today, ten years on: nearly 1,300 pharmacies across Belgium. A growing community of people who've found makeup they can finally trust.
